I tell you that Cannonball scared the crap out of me...I thought she was hurt or had a heart attack or something and then she popped up her head and stretched out.

Cyn, I cannot believe Ivy was fighting good lord that woman is one ubber tough cookie. Gotta respect that girl.

SCOTT! Hey, it is so nice to see you! I think you and I each have 3 broodies that became hormonal at about the same time! Mine are hatching now, as we speak (errr type!) .... Mine are hatching Delawares, and yours are hatching Lavenders! Tis the season, for sure. Are you gonna let the broodies raise their young?

Tell Landon we (the Delaware family) are all proud of him as well! Good boys you have, for sure. You are obviously a wonderful teacher/father. And proud you should be; that is great!

My Light Sussex girls are laying now. They are penned in with the Lavenders for my secret project.

I can hardly wait to see the results (in about 6 or 8 generations! LOL) .... My poor Lavender roosters are really overworked. Their next job is >>>>>> ready? >>>>>>>> Jersey Giants! YES, I am gonna try to make some Lavender Giants! This is gonna be slow, as I have only one black JG hen, and she is busy with the Blue Giant for another week or so. She is a big ol' girl, and in such demand. (And I am a hatchin' fool!)

I have searched and searched for soy-free organic feed. I did finally locate some, and am still deciding if I want to pay the price. It is a bit over $1000. for a ton of feed, with the shipping. I so wish it was more readily available and more affordable. What kind of feed do you all use? I am currently using Purina Flock Raiser and Game Bird Feed (for the animal by-products and extra protein). I also use the Purina Starter/Grower topped with Game Bird Starter. I am using about 50 pounds of feed a day (in total). This will cut drastically when I begin culling all these (gazillion) chicks I am growing out! (I do love watching them grow and change though!)

Germaine .... We are still waiting for your pictures!

Scott- Welcome back. I shall refrain from throwing my slightly taller than Cetawin self at you. . . . .

but it's good to hear from you again, and that you will have lavenders from KATHY???????????? Oh, uh,
duc.gif
innocent, yes. . . .ummmmm, she can feed an addiction like no one else!

Cyn, I am glad to hear Ivy and the girls are still hanging in there, although I know it must sometimes be painful to watch them - what a great heart she has!

Cetawin, a Thor/Luna chickie would do my heart good. Gloria Jean was kind enough to offer a hen if she had one, but looks like she got a roo. . . . .and I know what you mean about heart attack. Eleanor spends most of the day covered in dirt, on her side under the coop. First time I saw that, I thought I had another dead baby!!! She came out from under for treats yesterday, and when she shook out, I thought it was a mini dust storm coming at me.

Gotta go to work. Kathy, remind me to tell you what a terrorist Desiree is turning out to be. . . . .

I recieved some lovely little Delawares from The Pampered Pullet a few days ago!

Son's last week of school this week (field trips/awards ceremonies/classroom visits) #4 *and most important* MY HUBBY STOLE MY CAMERA!! Okay, fine. I guess he didnt steeeeeeeeal it...... and it is being used for a job he has been working all week, but I still say chicken pictures are more important!!

OMG what was he thinking? Does he not understand the importance of chicken pictures? You must instruct him immediately. Never let this happen again.
