Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I moved 8 Braden Dels from the incubator to the brooder just a couple of minutes ago, they're running around and peeping like all get out. They appear to be quite content.

There's still 1 in the incubator, I'm a little worried about it, the smaller half of the eggshell that it hatched from has stuck itself to the little chicks wing. Will it fall off naturally? I left it in the incubator because I figured the others would pick on it because of the shell. It appears fine, other than not being so mobile because of the weight of the shell. Should I try to remove the shell? How?

There's another Delaware egg pipping right now, so that only leaves 3 Del eggs and the 1 BLRW having not pipped. Hopefully they make it out today, seeing how it's day 21. I'm so happy with this hatch!

Stewart's gonna love all these women, I'm sure.

Kathy- that is just a sweet, sweet, little face- hope it's a little girl!

Jeremy, those Dels are little round chunks of cutitude- they sure don't seem camera shy. I don't know what you should do about that piece of shell- but maybe a little warm water on a cloth to soak it off? IF the chick is fully hatched, and that is the only problem, I should think it would be OK - but maybe someone more knowledgeable than I am can give you advice.

Dang...I hate it when I miss a day plus....

All the beautiful babies.... they all look so precious you guys.

I have been without power since sometime during the night until just a bit ago....the phone is still out but i saw them working on the lines...or some lines anyway. No idea what is going on but I am back now for how long who knows...there is a storm rolling in now. *sigh*

Oh and DH brought hope a nasty cold to me so yesterday and today have been no fun. I will kill him for bringing it home later when I feel better. LOL

Cyn....somehow I knew it would be Rose getting into trouble...those pretty ones with the sweet faces (like Cannonball) are always trouble. hahahaha How are Baize and Ebony doing? Keeping up with their older sister?

Kathy...yes they are all girls...you must tell them that...name them quickly and use their names. I have Cyn talking to them and calling them by their names...rumor has it that her DH was overheard calling Rose by her name.

All the pictures look awesome! Things are carrying on here at the farm. Shannon hurt her foot in TKD Wednesday night. Was at the ER from 9:30pm until 2:30am. I don't mind waiting when I'm low priority, I've been high priority and I prefer the waiting. It's just a sprain and contusion, but apparently they take them more seriously around the time the growth plates are sealing.

My Dad has a tumor on his parotid gland that is wrapped around one of his facial nerves. They have biopsy'd it, but not gotten results yet. Only a 20% chance of malignancy. He will have surgery in June.

Ladies, I'm starting to feel like a country music song.

Ok... pictures....
The back side of my #1 Roo, can't see his comb in any pictures, but it is good, except for only 4 points.

I have some other possible roos that are showing mixed roo/hen characteristics. Some that have not so great tails, or combs etc. We'll see how they turn out.

To keep to the Del topic, here is a picture of my one Delaware, Della. she is almost 9 months old and gives me an egg every day. She is the leader of my mixed flock that also contains one Buff orp, one Dominique, and one Silver laced wyandotte. I got her from My Pet Chicken so her coloring is not the best. In fact she has no black on her at all right now.

Also, here are some pics of my BBS rocks from Yard full of Rocks. They are 10 weeks old now. I also posted some pics of them over on the Barred Rocks thread; #228 I think.

Does anyone have an opinion on the sex of these three? I kept one each of the 3 colors.

Thanks again, Scott!

Ladyhawk, all three are doing very well. They are typical Orps, little screamers when you pick them up. I didn't get to see them today-it rained most of the day and DH did all the work out there. I'll get new pics when their little wings are fully feathered.

Jeremy, they look great! Not much cuter than a nosey Delaware baby.

Been quilting all day. Will have to hit the sack soon.

Thanks Kathy. I'm going to start naming them now. One of them will be Blanche, Vivian, Martha (Stewart's main squeeze
