These super sweet Dellies just don't make much noise, do they? Marty wouldn't believe me! Nobody else answered him, >>>>>> because they are quiet!

It is a crazy Spring weather. Saturday it snowed here for hours. But first it rained for hours. The whole day was wet and the Dels were covered in mud, it was pitiful.

So Sunday I dug the whole disgusting 15x20 run out and down 6 inches and am ready to put the 15 yards of sand I bought in there. I hope it helps.

I was going to put some pics on but the computer tech guy has some program on here and i can't plug in the camera until he gets me my new hard drive. Hopefully today. The computer is slowwwwwwwww because it has almost no memory left. Probably due to all my pictures!

Well, my Dels chatter and mumble a lot- coo and chuckle, I have one girl that is EXTREMELY proud of her egg song, and Luke let's out with a good crow occasionally, but, yeah, overall, they are relatively quiet. Ultrasuede is the crower out of my bunch. His girls BREEET and scream a lot.

I know, I know. I keep thinking I should take pictures, but there's so much ~else~ to do before it gets dark!

Ok,
So then I have another question;

We live on 1/3 of an acre. I have 9 houses on my side of the street, and 9 neighbors on the back street. But, because we have 'larger' lots, and it's an older part of the community, we are zoned A-1 (Agricultural).

I have 15 laying hens that make some noise, but not until about 6AM. That includes 3 Americanas that can be pretty loud. (But only after laying, and then for no more than about 5 minutes.) Then there are the ‘baby girls’; 17 Del Hens, 2 Del Roosters, 3 RIR, 3 BPR, and 3 GSL. No one has complained about noise... yet... There is a neighbor 2 houses north that had a rooster or two last year, and someone complained. They had to get rid of it, and their hens are loud!

Now, everyone be honest with me here. Is a Del rooster something I might try in my neighborhood? Do the Roos event ~think~ about crowing before 6AM?

Foremost, I really want to keep peace with the neighbors, and wouldn’t want to “try it until I get a complaint”, but it would be so cool to have an excuse to buy an incubator!

Well, Luke and Ultrasuede do start before 6- Luke usually quiets down after I let them out. Just DO NOT get eggs from Scott, since his rooster Pepper is a loudmouth. (Ha! Where I got my Dels, indeed- Cyn, smack him one!)

My first hatch of Del's are 14 weeks old and I heard one of my rooster starting to crow today,
I think it was Chicken fingers hes been trying for a couple of days.
