Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

After sending a few pics to a breeder of LF Dellies, I found out that the pullet I'd selected (named Della, of course), well, is Del! Still no protruding comb but after examing the pics, def. the tail and wing barring of a male. After coming out from underneath the shell of my embarrassment, I have resigned myself to the fact that HE is still a handsome young bird that will hopefully be ready to show by the middle of Aug.

Can you post a picture? Even pullets have tail barring sometimes, often up until they are 18 weeks old, then they molt it out and grow proper ladylike feathers. You didn't say how old this bird is, did you?

There are pics in my post. Can you not open them? I also said we got the chicks at the end of Jan., as day olds.
If you can not open the pics, please let me know.
Thanks.

For some reason, I didn't even see the links, sorry! I'm going against the flow to say I think that's a pullet. By now, that would have quite a comb if it was male. I never saw such a tiny comb on an almost-six month old Delaware. I don't have bantams, but wow, by 14 weeks old, my males have huge combs. Heck, by four weeks, my males have larger combs than that! And yes, I've seen pullets with tail barring just that crisp. I had one of them. She had barring on her tail that would make any rooster proud, then it molted out, it appeared completely white, and slowly, tail black came in.

If that's a cockerel, he has the teensiest comb I've ever seen on one.

The BEST is a cabinet style incubator, in my opinion. However, there are several new table-top models that get high marks for satisfaction. Check in the incubation threads, as there are several threads about the different models.

Boy oh boy .... sold off all the Delaware chicks today, as well as most of the others. Out of 125+ chicks, I think I only have about 20 left. I also sold 4 Delaware roos and 3 pullets (green legs) from the Claudia and Cyn hatch. This lady didn't care about the SOP. They have a big farm and just want eggs and meat. Perfect! They have a 9 yr old daughter with Down's Syndrome, and she is overjoyed when with chicks and chickens, the mom said. I am happy they have these.

Today I am hatching Black Copper Marans from really dark eggs. I am excited about these, and will keep them for myself. Out of 5 dozen eggs from one source, and 2 dozen eggs from another source, I chose only the darkest eggs to incubate (12). So far, 7 are out. The other Marans hatching today are Cuckoos and Wheatens. These I will sell. Lavenders are in the hatcher for tomorrow. This Mega-Hatchathon is almost done! YAY!!!!

Busy day. Garage sale with chick sales to boot. Nice weather here, in the 80s. DS watched the garage sale for a couple hours, and I took DD shopping for maternity clothes. Baby due Nov 27. Another grandchild to lavish with love. Hatching BCMarans .... 9 out of 12 are hatched and #10 is zipping and chirping!
ETA: # 11 is now out! YAY 11 out of 12 now!

Have you ever asked yourself ...... Hmmmm, what would a Del mix look like????

Well, let me show you ..... I am thinking Easter Egger Delawares. These are from the hatch from Michelle (Shelleyb1969). I knew they may be mixes, so no disappointment. But surprised, because we thought they were crossed with a RIR. I dunno, maybe one is, as it has a standard comb. They are 9 weeks old. I hatched out 5.
