Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Good morning, Dellie lovers~ well, sticky morning anyway. The humidity on our hygrometer said HI, which means over 90%! ARGH! I can't take much more of this. Our high today is supposed to be 89, however, the "real feel" heat index is 107!!!!!!

I hope the birds will make it. Seems Isaac and the Dels aren't having too hard of a time at the moment, but the temps are just in the low 80's right now.

Good Morning Dellie Land! Cyn, I sure hope you can get your hands on tons of ice for those sweet boys and girls of yours!

We hit 100 here at the farm yesterday, though the official temps out at the air port said we only got to 98. I'm not gonna split hairs over two degrees! I defy anyone to tell the difference at that point.

Thankfully, the humidity here is still below 20%. That's great for living, but I fear it's going to play havoc for the fire conditions around here. Can we say tinder box just waiting for a random spark? And now they're calling for a 30% chance of cloud to ground lightening this afternoon!

I'll pray for y'all in the humid hot areas that you get lower humidity, if y'all will pray for no lightening for me today!

Now where is that Cetawin with a report on them chicks!?!?!

I broke into my change jar and bought two more tarps- I am going to go into a planting frenzy this fall and put trees on the west side CLOSE to the run-
Amy, you are in my prayers- nothing more frightening to me than being in the path of a raging fire and trying to figure out how to move all the critters!!!!

Cynthia, how is the roof repair?

Cetawin posted on her incubation thread that the Orp is resting after hatching covered in blood, and June's chick got out with a little membrane peel help. Nothing else happening.

I know we have quite a few military and ex-military folks on this thread. I just received this from my father, also ex-military, and thought it was right on the mark. BTW - I'm not trying to incite a "debate" here....just a cute "comment" that I found a bit humorous in these times

Best quote of 2010....

The General is a quick thinker..

President Obama was having that one, lone brief conversation this year with General McChrystal about Afghanistan .

Things were obviously not going the way the General had hoped. Obama could sense this, and told him, "I bet when I die, you'll piss on my grave."

To which General McChrystal answers, "No sir, I've always said that when I get out of the Army, I'll never again wait in another line."
