I bet!
When my mom tried to complain to me about the $2.60 per gallon she was paying a couple months ago, I just started laughing.

Look around Home Depot a little closer sweetie. You quoted the price for the expensive stuff. The 40 inch tall stuff, also 25 feet long, is only $8.97 a roll. I know this because we just bought two rolls last Friday!

The 36 inch tall stuff is a smaller opening on the mesh and therefore more expensive. So, look a little more closely and you should be able to find the cheaper stuff right next to the expensive stuff. Unless of course your Home Depot doesn't stock both kinds. Happily for us, ours does!! Gotta love the Home Depot!

We're in the process of converting one of the "day yards" into a full time residence for my boys as well. Brutus is a real pro at hopping the current 40 inch fence, so we're extending the entire thing up another 40 inches. I've just about got it all strung up now, but it takes a whole bunch of the little zip ties like SH said! Buy at least 3 or 4 packages of those if you're going to be doing it at all like I'm doing mine.

I can hardly wait to get this particular project completed. Then I won't have to worry about the boys getting into trouble with Chief!

Luckily for me, my three hooligans get along pretty well. A bigger yard is probably going to improve that too! They'll have more room to get out of each others faces when tempers flare in the summer.

I'll post some pictures for ya as soon as we're done with the project. Maybe there will be an idea or two in there that you can use to keep your boys from killing each other. I sure do know how you feel when you say you don't think you could part with either of them. It's the same for me and my three extra boys. They serve no earthly purpose at this point, other than bringing me a great deal of joy just having them around. They really are such sweethearts!

Have you ever paid them an on-site visit Kathy? I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to see a big hatchery operation. Just to see how they do it all!

It just seems to me that, if they're a really big outfit, then they can't possibly offer quality birds, with outstanding breeding. I mean, seriously, where's the quality control? Where do they find the time to really look at their birds and come to the conclusion that this rooster will be a good match with those hens?

It just can't be done effectively in my book!

Which is why the birds we see posted for some of these hatchery websites probably don't even belong to the hatchery. Like Jeremy said, who do you suppose that little Del really belongs to? Probably not the hatchery! That's almost certain!

Aren't there laws about "Truth in advertising"? And wasn't there someone on BYC here recently who was saying that she had to watermark all of her photos now because she caught some fly by night outfit using pictures of HER birds and were depicting them as THEIR breeding stock!?!?!

Shameful! And darned annoying! How are you supposed to feel assured that you're going to get a reasonable quality bird with those kinds of Shenanigans going on!?!?!

Most hatcheries would never let any of us on there property. It is a bio security issue. The hatcheries get their pics where they can, most are not pics of their birds and when they are you can see the defects in their lines.
