Still only have one pip and that little one I think is going to be here before morning like yours, eager little things. The peeping has slowed and the rocking has picked up in others so I suspect that this is just the calm before the storm.
I will probably get a couple hours sleep but I am a usually awake and up by 230 and sometimes 3 because I can't sleep so it all works. *peep peep in the background*
Yes all my 'bators are set for hatch tonight. Only 38 eggs made it to lockdown, but I didn't set that many to begin with, these are the first for my hatching season. I will probably run hatches thru January depending on weather. This time I had the extra space so I am taking advantage of it and using all bators so I can keep the Marans seperate as I had eggs from both pens which I normally do not do.
Hey Kathy- How is everything going with the hatch? How many are out now?
I was wondering, should I not be so concerned with bringing up chicks in the Fall vs. the Spring? It seems like a lot of people hatch through the fall, I wonder what expert breeeders do?
WoW! The second one to pip just a little bit ago is completely zipped and trying to break out, man that was fast!
Thanks Jolet!
I have to say a GREAT BIG HUGE.....THANK YOU to Kathy! If it weren't for her I wouldn't be getting the chance to experience Delawares. There are not many Delaware breeders that are easy to find with heritage birds here on the West Coast (this morning we are calling it the very WET Coast....:lol ! ) Thank you again Kathy!
