Del-girl- I am so relieved to know I am not the only kook to do that - I made my DH hold his cell phone over them so I could try to tell by their peeping if they were warm and happy!!!!

Kathyinmo- it won't be long- mine can do 15 miles- from home to where I work, with no problem.

Cetawin, ask Fattie and Cannonball if they use Verizon - then at least the calls will be free!

Mostly because Buckshot has been on top of the waterer, mindspeaking Fattie and Cannonball, and inciting the other Delbabies to try to fly out of their rubbermaid palace, I am building a new brooder this afternoon - 8 feet long 30 inches tall and 30 inches wide. Another good reason to do this: Superchick is feathering later than everyone else, and I won't be able to turn them into the coop on schedule. Also, the quiet ones are constantly getting plowed over by the Riot Act. . . . this will give them two more feet in length and another 8 or 9 inches in width, and no tunnel to pile up in. . . keep your fingers crossed - its supposed to get to 18 in the mountains and it's been snowing!!! I think I will wait till a warmer day to transfer them!

If DH will remember to bring the camera home, I will get pics!!!!

Took some pictures of the 8 week olds today. Do you think the first two pictures are of a pullet or roo? I can't quite tell. Yes i took alot but they are so cute! There is at least one roo that looks like he may have some nice markings.
