Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

YES! I wondered about that. My best-looking Del pullet is extremely vocal. Sometimes she is joined by one of the NH and/or Maran girls, who also talk a lot. But that Del is really a chatterbox, and LOUD!

Rexx is too, of course... He doesn't really have a very nice crow, only three notes and kind of raspy. Not for lack of practice, that's certain.

Yep, that's Rexxor the Sexxor. His tail is actually even better than it looks... what do you call those two long feathers at the top of the tail? Anyway, when I shot that pic those weren't out yet. He's a dandy. And he cracks me up with his antics, always fretting about his girls and trying to find treats for them. The little noise he makes to call them over just gets me every time. We have an arrangement: I bring goodies, and he takes the credit.

Sickles! That's exactly what they look like, all right. Rexx's are nicely barred; they do arch up over the rest of the tail, a rather pleasing effect in my view. But they don't hold up well in the wind...

Yesterday I re-roofed the roosting shed, under CONSTANT supervision. It is sooo funny to watch him fret!

Okay, time for moar pixx...

Here he is showing off the sickles:

In case you really are interested in the tail!

The hens are sooo much harder to photograph! But here's a decent one:

Tried to get a top-shot to show the configuration; difficult in full winter sunshine:

Albion, you have a great looking bunch of chickens!

Oh and it's really nice to see ground too! But on a positive note... the snow here is starting to melt!

I cannot wait for my Dels to grow up... I hope they start laying around July. Until then, I just want them to hit the six week mark. That's my absolute favorite age. They have a new nice brooder to lounge in.
