Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

They all look pretty identical. I can't really see a difference at first look.

Do some have green legs?

No, no green legged girls here. They're all yellow, but they have faded quite significantly now that they're laying consistently again.

The girl on the far right and the girl on the bottom left are both hatchery Dels, from Privett. My other hatchery girl, Yvonne the Del I posted a picture of a few weeks back, is to the left of this picture just out of the frame. She didn't want to have her picture taken apparently.

Those three hatchery girls were my original chickens, along with 5 others. They will be 3 years old this April and still lay everyday for me.

The things that I'm unhappiest about concerning the Braden Dels are funky combs and pinched tails. Not to mention when they lay an egg do they ever "sing" an egg song, they are SO LOUD. Louder than any of my other chicks. Those five girls could raise the dead!

Here's my Delaware Amelia from Farwest Hatchery. She's named after Amelia Earhart because she would try and fly(hop) at 3 days old! She's always been the most inquisitive and curious one out of the bunch and I love her to death! She was also the first to actually sing the egg song!

The ONLY difference is the tails. I thought maybe that the far right was the hatchery bird. Which hatchery did you get them from. They are great.

I am still thinking on bringing mine in for a bath. I worry that the roo will decide to crow and wake up DH though.

Hello everyone!! I'm relatively new here, and I got my delaware trio this past sunday. I love them! They are beautiful and they lay the prettiest brown eggs. I'm wondering if there is a way to get the yellowing out of my roo's feathers, or if he's yellow for good. I'll post pictures of them as soon as I figure out how to do so....

Some say the yellowing is genetic, some say it is from feeding too much corn. I have no proof positive of either one.

Don't you love the Delaware personality?
