Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

McSpin, he has a really nice tail.

I have been so busy and only have been able to get short breaks on BYC. My Del babies are huge. In one week I can hardly recognize them.

It has been cold here though (23) and maybe they are just fluffed for warmth, but my eyes just bugged out when I looked closer yesterday.

I love everyones babies. This is so great! How is superglue chick? And how is slipped tendon, aka pocketpooper chick doing? That is the most absolute cutest and funniest name yet. I love the pics Cynthia! We need little ity bitty diapers for these babies.

I took some pics of my youngest a few days ago and it was hilarious. They hated the flash and one literally did a flip!

Keep posting everybody, this is one of my "happy places"

Just to keep this a happy place for you .... I took them out of the brooder, and into my quilt studio for pictures, at 1 AM .... just for you! And, by the way .... they all pooped in that 10 minutes!
Here are my 9 day old Dellies, on the, "fabric runway." What color do you think they look best in (on!)...

Oh, I just had to come back and post this. Remember how I told you they are sooooo friendly and calm, etc. ?? Remember? OK ... this is what they (notice: all but the Dellies) do when I get in the brooder. This is when all 42 chicks are together:
Aawwww, run for the corner! ....

Kathy, you are great!! I am definetely in my happy place now. I just had to peek this morning. Barely had a sip of coffee and already my day is made!!

They are sooooo cute and look at those feathers. They have feathered out so much and so quick. The blue by far looks the best on them, then the black and orange. When I saw that you had them on the fabric I had a mixture of awwww, gasp and chuckle because I knew they were going to poop all over it.

I used my good tablecloth for some of my pictures and oh boy, they managed to get poop everywhere.

They still have that baby yellow to them on the blue fabric too and that is sweet.

And the picture of all of them crowding in the corner--pure eye candy. I keep trying to figure out who is who. What a beautiful sight.

I thought mine were still so small and sweet (which they are) but I hatched out some quail for the fun of it and they are in the brooder with the Dels. The Dels look like giants compared to them.
I also worried that the Dels would peck them or be mean to the little guys but they just took them right in and all of them huddle together under the light. You just see yellow and then these little heads and bodies in between wiggling to get some room! I laugh every time I look in there.

Thank you for posting for me!!!

Kathy, that is one gorgeous bunch of babies! Pocketpooper is hanging in there. Feel bad for it all alone in its box with only a stuffed monkey for company, but can't stay in Daddy's pocket 24/7. Haven't checked the leg yet this morning.

Good Morning Cynthia! Poor little pocket pooper. How could you tell it had a slipped tendon? Was it not able to walk?
Just in case it ever happens to me, I would like to know how to know.
Are you having "empty nest" syndrome?

Oh my gosh- catch up morning!!!! Rustyswoman, let's grab another cup of coffee!!!!!
Kathyinmo- I am sorry about Emily- but she is alive!!! And your babies are darling-I vote for the blue background, too.

Cyn, glad to hear the Pocketpooper is doing well- I hated to leave him behind, but I know I couldn't do what you are doing, and if anyone can get this baby back to normal, it will be you! I haven't got the knowledge or experience yet.

Superchick is eating, drinking, pooping and learning to hold his own against the more aggressive of my little bunch of barbarians- Baby Blue is smaller, but looks fierce and grumpy and is treated respectfully.

I saw Gracie, Isaac and all of Speckledhens gorgeous family- WOW!!! Even more good looking than their pictures! Suede made my heart thump and almost knocked Isaac out of #1 poster boy position. I could get into this blue thing!!!

Great to see everyones chicks dooing so good.My 19 little Dellies from Cynthia are growing like weeds.I will get some pictures soon.My camera died but I am going to get a new one very soon.My older ones I hatched myself from Cynthia's babies had a issue last week as a hawk that has been driving me crazy finally figured out how to get into the growout pen.He killed two of my babies but then he could not find his was back out and was trapped. The other 5 are growing and do not look like chicks any more.I think I have 2 roos and three pullets from the older bunch but I am still on the fence on one so we will see.Pictures soon I promise.
