I love it. I threaten my birds with cages. If they are bad, they stay in a 10X10 with no neighbors for a day, especially crazy roosters. My boys are learning to be good to the girls and to my legs, lol!

It's one of the best things about the Dellies- they come to you. . . . .they LIKE being held. It still amazes me.

kathy I don't know but I know Cyn's line loves attention...goodness they could sit with you and be patted, rubbed and talked to 24/7! Oh and get into something...always looking for something to get into.

You cannot allow a Delaware to become bored, LOL. Not all lines are super friendly and calm like that. As many folks here know, my first foray into the Delaware breed was not a pleasant one. Those little vampires were sold off ASAP, even the girls. They were vicious (not just exploratory with their beaks, but really aggressive) and flighty. Janet had to talk me into hatching some eggs from her crew.

Well, we are all certainly glad Janet talked you into it!!!
Mine get pecky, but I "peck" them back with my finger and they quit. They are just convinced that food will automatically appear soon after the hands show up, and they get impatient.
It's funny, though, they follow me from one end of the brooder to the other, even after I have filled their feeders. I have to shoo them off the feeders and shoo them off the waterer and I have to wear my hair in a ponytail to feed them - they are starting to grab on to my hair and pull.......brats! I love 'em!

Well, then I suppose now I have to stock up on chicken toys, huh? Just when I thought I was finished with the toy buying days!

Seriously, my DH is not easy to impress ... and he really really likes these Delawares. I overheard him talking at our Christmas parties ... tellin' the relatives about these fabulous Heritage Delawares! Oh yea, got him!
