I was a foggy damp day today, but the birds don't mind. My RIRs seem to be maturing a lot over the last week. I still have not made up my mind if I like them or not, other then the fact they jabber a lot, they are kinda dull vs. the Dels.
I always got chicks in smaller baches, 6-12 from the feed store. now I'm planing on getting 25-27 chicks in the next few months, hopefuly I don't lose my mind. lol

I have some Del eggs collected (habit) and am debating putting them in with the Rocks (blue and barred) and a couple others I'll be incubating, starting the end of next week. I honestly dont think I want to keep more right now, so the chicks would be for sale, I guess.

Well, I do have almost a dozen, but probably won't incubate them all. I'll think about it (while I look for a HUGE box from which to make a brooder in the bsmt)

I had to go buy lumber today ... so I picked up some of their nice big heavy boxes and some of those large flat pieces of cardboard, as well. Too bad you aren't near ... I have extra!

ETA: I like the disposable ones better than a wooden one, I think. At least for inside! Now, in the barn, or outside, I guess a stationary one is best. ??

Cyn, I hope your girls pull through, and I've been keeping Kira in my prayers. And Jake is a handsome boy, but I agree, he has a "look" in his eye, and its a good thing you processed him when he flogged your husband.

Wherever it went in this thread about the flag logo, the winner was SDWD... which I need enlightened on its meaning because I already forgot. The fog over here is fogging up my head. Oh, and of course, it RAINED ALL DAY!!!! But, I am getting 18-20 eggs out of 30 hens

Cannonball sounds like a character. I've got a pullet who has now assumed that she is queen of my shoulder. You can imagine the short lasting fright I had when all of a sudden a pair of white wings is beating the side of my head

Catdaddyfro, those birds are very cute. I remember that age. Now, the four 13 week old boys I have are testing out their crowers. Sounds like their dying...

The other pictures (I cant remember who posted them, but the one about Bill Bradens cockerels) Those boys were handsome, and I saw some nice coloring there too, but I'm no expert.

I think there were two other sets as well...hmmm... They were gorgeous and cute and all DELAWARE!!!!!!!!! Haha, thats all I remember.

Delgirl - I got used to Cannonball smacking me in the head when she was 4 and 5 weeks old. She launches herself onto your shoulder.

Cyn, that is what I thought about that back one...it is the blade. Gotcha and I thought those were his earlobes....man he rubs his face against you and I rub his earlobes and he closes is eyes and just relaxes completely. Most of the time if he is standing and I do that, he sits down and relaxes. hahahaha

Maybe that is what is ... I went auburn a few months back. What will happen in a few short weeks when my black and silver (both showing bigtime) is back? will my babies turn on me?

Thor already hates my glasses...he backs away for a bit when I am wearing them.
