Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I will email and see if I can get some more pictures. I guess if nothing else I am really not out anything and I should have some decent egg producers....

Laney, I so often see them have a wide chest, but not a deep chest. It's sort of "cut in", if you know what I mean. Tricia, those are better looking than many that we're seeing out of hatcheries these days, probably a good starting point.

Rooster on the left is really nice. Nice comb even. Again, can't see the width of chest because of the picture, but no one advertising ever thinks to put those head on shots in there.

The rooster on the right has a poor tail angle, what might be called squirrel tail even. The tail is supposed to be at a 45* angle from the body, and his tail is at a 90* angle from the body, coming up and over his back. Otherwise he is a nice rooster also. This could just be a bad picture, you need to see in person if he really has a tail that carries at that angle, or if he was startled etc by the photo session. I've taken one or two pictures of my Rooster that show him in that posture, but he definitely doesn't have a tail that he normally carries at that angle.

Could these birds be the beginning of the elusive Delaware bloodline that we all need to expand our flocks?!?!

Only time will tell.

OH, there is so much I could get done in 15 hours!

But, if you insist on sleeping, maybe you should wear an adult disposable undergarment, as well.

I will play you for it Scott and am already packed...I will see your 15 hour flight to China and raise you one 36 hour (plus stops for fuel, watering and feeding critters and potty breaks) driving of the U-Haul and trailer.

She Calls Scott

LadyHawk drops 2 pair Ks over 8's and Scott slaps down the 2 Pair A's and K's and with a wicked diabolicle laugh LadyHawk says "I will tell me husband to expect you on the 27th"

(quickly hiding the two As back up her sleeve)

I've been watching and reading this thread. I have really enjoyed the pictures of everyone's Dels. I have a dozen of Claudia's eggs in the incubator now with a hatch date of 17 days from now. Claudia was great to deal with and did an excellent job wrapping the eggs. Speaking of different lines of Dels., what do people know of Bill Braden's Delawares. He lives in Texas.

I believe Bill Braden is out of Oklahoma?

All I know about his birds is that there's a really, really, really long waiting list.
