It pipped last night and when I woke up this morning it was out, walking around the incubator!

What do I do now? It's not dry yet, so I know I'm suppose to leave it in the incubator, how long though? This little baby is early, today is only day 20. None of the other eggs have pipped yet, a lot of them are rocking like crazy. I'll try to get some pictures up soon, unfortunately I've got work today.

What about it food? Does it need to eat? How long can it stay in the incubator? I'm so happy but scared at the same time!

TAKE A DEEP BREATH!!!

Almost every del chick I hatched from Cyn's breeders hatched on Day 20 (not unusual). The chick will be fine for up to 3 days in the 'bator without food/water and the rest of yours will surely hatch long before then!!

DONT OPEN THAT BATOR!!!!

Just watch and enjoy....glad to hear your hatch is going well. It's an addiction (just ask Kathy!!

It will be fine till completely fluffed out. I never leave mine in after that--DH and I have a system where we spot where the chick is, then one slightly cracks open the bator and the other snatches it out, but that's just me and we've done this for years, so you don't have to get it out anytime soon.

So the chick that hatched is actually one of the Ameraucanas from pips&peeps, no Dells yet. (Cross posting this to the Ameraucana thread and my hatching thread.) One of the huge Delaware eggs is rocking around and I can hear it peeping!

The little Ameraucana looks fine, all damp and wobbly. There's this weird goo stuff that looks like it came out of the egg, does anybody know what that is??

Alright , Already, You ladies and gentlemen are driving me crazy. I've seen Cyn's beautiful brood of Delawares. They are awesome. I have some of her really pretty blue orps. But really, Would mine stay nice and white in a clay run? I want , I want but would they? Gloria Jean
