Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Well, I guess I need to be looking for another roo myself. If Kathy's #3 is too light, then my Luke is also. Dang, I wish I still had Buckshot!!!!!

I think I like the first one, after that I get confused. I wish I could spread them out on the table and compare!!! Good shots of combs, Kathy!!!

I like number one and number six kathy. They look like they have potential

ETA: Actually #6 is too dark in the tail...make for some decent hens tho.

I also like #6. His comb is very nice and his darker tail is like his sire's. As long as it's barred, however dark, it will be great for tail black in the daughters. You just don't want one with solid black sickles like a Columbian Rock.

#6 does have a nice comb. They are all very nice looking birds Kathy! I need a good female line going...can I steal #6

I got rid of my Columbian looking roo because he had a solid tail. He's now breeding mutt babies on a close by farm. I have gotten rid of all his offspring too, and now I need a line for girls. I have a slight problem with not getting enough roos at the moment. Seems all I hatch are girls lately. Some I thought were boys...turns out are girls too...never had that happen before

I think I have 2 roos out there out of about 25 chicks! Their daddy has a not so dark tail, so I need a dark roo to pair up with them. GIMME #6

I WANT HIM!!

I do see the barring in his tail--it's just like his dad's. Great comb on the boy, too! Ike would be proud. The second one you just posted has really nice hackles and deep body. The comb isn't perfect, but it's not bad. Beautiful wing carriage!

I would let 2 and 3 go, yes.

I like #6 better than #7. I also think #5 has potential, too, though he has an extra comb point. I can't tell how his tail is, though. I do like #6 a lot.

Bassleg, you're right, that one has some long legs. Their sire's legs are probably a tad too long, so that's where that came from. I really am not too sure about that #7, Kathy. I don't really care for his body shape for some reason or his tail.

Thanks for all your help! I will keep #6, to be my breeder at this point then. I will also hang on to #5, and maybe # 7, to see how they shape up. # 7 squatted down when I was getting his picture, I do recall that.

Cindiloohoo ..... LOL .... NO, you can not have # 6 ! BUT, I will send you some other boys!

The others are going to auction Friday. Oooohhhh, that is tomorrow. I need to start moving out some culls. I have at least 15 cull roosters in a pen already to go .... Marans, JGiants, and black orps (split for lavender). At this point I am keeping all pullets, for the layer coop.

I have been working on taxes for days. DH did not make it home as planned .... so, we had to file an extension today!

First time my procastination has led to that!

I still have 22 Delaware chicks growing from Claudia (allaboutdemchicks) and Cyn. They are only about 5 weeks old, but looking really nice!

Oh, and I have 5 (from Shelleyb1969) from last weekends hatch, too! I am sure to have a near perfect roo yet! I am so grateful to Janet for working so hard on her stock that we all love so much! I believe she has produced the best Delawares I have ever seen! We just all need to continue to expand on that, and keep working them to perfection!

Ignoring that first line I would like to say I think you should cull #6. He's just too nice and making the others look bad...tell ya what...because I like you SO much and am such a good FRIEND and KNOW it is hard to cull...ship him to me and I will handle that for ya.

On a totally unrelated note...I'm an idiot. Just so you all know that...some of you probably thought it anyways

I just did a swap for some Buckeye's...they were calling me....I dunno how that happened...

I must get crackin on a new coop. Where were ya'll to keep me out of trouble huh? Note to self: Swaps are too dangerous to even look!!

Kathy I will PM you my addy should you decide to take me up on that offer......
