Can you say O...U...C...H??!!

This eggs is almost 3" long and about twice as big around

You better check those girls .... somebody must be limping!

I bought some of those shipping boxes. I think they were $5 each for the day old chicks. You can put 25 - 30 in a box, I think it said. I bet there are alot of people who would like that .... buying the chicks instead of incubating. Some don't have incubators.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news and I know this is not the place for this but I really want my birds to find a good home.I havent been on lately as you may have noticed.Im going through a divorce and need to find homes for my Delawares. If anyone is within diving distance I have two small flocks of Cythia's delawares and Birds from Bill Braden. These are young birds that have just started laying or a few are just laying there first few eggs.I'm in Cedartown georgia 30125.I will give someone a very fair price on some very nice birds.

No pics but certain that 5 out of 6 of the chicks from Speckledhens eggs are...........drum roll please..............Roos! OMG! Do you have any idea what that means? It means I'll have 6 Delaware roosters! It means I have to keep them until they grow enough to see which I want to keep. It means I intend to keep them til they can "dance" with the hens.

I have 6 hens. 4 Western NY girls and 1 of their daughters and the 1 from the Speckledhen hatch. So each rooster will get his own girl. I do have 1 other hen but I believe her mother is a hatchery girl. Very low classed, ya know. Honesty it will be like " Wisteria Lane" around here. I'll have to repaint the coop and put red crushed velvet covered roosts in. I'll have to have special ruffled aprons made for their backsides. Satin of course. Now who do I name "Miss Kitty"? Is anybody getting this? I suppose the "Lavender" Ameraucanas will fit right in. I blame that "Red" heat light. Definitely had a bad affect on these girls. Do they still sell "flocked" wallpaper? Flocked, that's an appropriate term. Isnt' that what they use on the walls? Based on what I've seen in the movies it is.

I have to tell you though, the chicks are in with 6 EE chciks. The Dels chicks come to the front of the brooder when I come out and the EE's hide to the back. I don't really care if the EE's don't like me as long as they lay some really nice colored eggs. Otherwise I'll be screaming like the Queen of hearts in Alice and Wonderland.. OFF WITH HER HEAD! The real point being the Del chicks are friendlier.

I'll post pics later.

James ...
