Out of curiousity, are the black marks on a few of the heads naturally theirs or are they marked to keep track of who is drinking? I know it has NOTHING to do with the sex of the chick, but I am curious as to why some Dels have them and some don't.

Some just have them. No bearing on sex. We have several in each batch of Del chicks, maybe 1/4 of them or fewer. Janet told me that sometimes those end up with the best markings.

I posted this as a separate thread but I should have just put it here-- you're the ones to ask. My 2 2-week-old LB chicks are SO tiny compared to the Delawares and SLWs I have. They were hatched the same day as the Dels, and only 1 day after the SLWs yet the size/feathering difference is ridiculous. Is this normal?

Also, at what age can you sex these little things? Thanks so much!

ETA a better comparison pic... seriously, the LB looks like a bantam next to the SLW who is only ONE day older!

With Delawares, you usually have a good idea of the sex by four weeks old. They develop quickly. I've noticed that Brahma chicks seem small compared to other breeds, even though they are huge adults.
