This was huge, swollen black mass. The outer toenail had come off, leaving the inner softer part. It's not bruising at all, it's like it's rotting. DH got off lots of dead stuff, but he fears it's already going up his leg. Poor Isaac! It wasn't at all like that last time I looked a couple days ago. This happened fast. Probably got staph under the nail somehow. Dang, he was so sweet, letting me whisper in his ear and being a very good patient. He loves me and I adore him and I hate to lose him to this stupid thing.

Cyn, find an avian vet and call...see what the exam fee is and I will send monies! There is no freakin' way that boy is gonna die over something so silly as a toenail...no way no how!

I would rather see them amputate his toe. it is NOT GOING UP HIS LEG...NO NO NO!

DeDe is outside in a small pen and has done a meet and greet with some of the girls...most of them are lying under trees or under the porch but they will meet her later. Ebony and Baize are in a cage next to her meeting and greeting as well. I think she will do fine....I want to see what happens when she meets everyone and especially Thor.

Cynthia I'm so, so sorry! It sounds as if you're doing everything you can to help him be comfortable and get well. He'll be fine I'm sure!

This makes me wanna quit raising chickens. This is just the worst news ever. If all these bad things happen, well ..... I just don't want to deal with it.

Oh, I soooooo hope Isaac will pull through this mess.

I just want to sit and cry. There are no vets open here on the weekend, of course, even if there was an avian vet. I'm with you, Kathy. I can't deal with much more of this drama. Why does it have to be Isaac, my sweet angel? It does seem things always happen to your favorites, doesn't it?

We're going to give him another shot of pen tonight, maybe soak the foot in epsom salts. I think I'll just curl into a fetal position now.
 
Cyn...please call a vet on Monday please please please and let me know what they say... I do not want that boy to die over something like this.
