Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Good Lord I get off line for a few hours to do laundry, clean tubs and do dishes and all hellz breaks loose. The Princess trying to lay a golf ball? Nugget trying to start laying again, Roosevelt on his own...Ike getting soaked and poked. What are you down there in GA woman?

Golly gee whiz, I have company for the day, and it takes me the rest of the night to catch up with the drama and trauma in Dellie Land!

I am SO glad Ike is better- and I want to echo Cetawin, Kathy, and Amy (dear Amy, is there a chance ANY of us could sound even mildly literate after you post?
wink.png
just kidding- I love your posts!) in saying, Cyn, that we are your friends, we have your back, shut up and take some money, OK?

Tell Shadow eggs are NOT round, and Nugget that tomorrow is another day, maybe there will really be an egg, and she will be back to normal.

Cetawin, tell Fattie to mindspeak pics of Thor thunking heads over to Cyn's Dellie woman-or better yet, to Ike with the OK to give those girls heck!

She is so stubborn sometimes...LOL

Shadow needs a spanking!

I shall give Fattie, Cannonball and Thor phone privileges to talk to those bad bad Dellie women in GA!

Morning all....been gone since Friday as Colby was playing in a baseball tourney.

Cyn....I'm soooo sorry about the issues with Issac. And I echo everyone else's statements about you and your willingness to help!! Anytime I have a question...who do I email?? Cyn! Do I post questions on the forum?? NOPE, I ask Cyn! Don't sell yourself short....you've been nothing shy of a Godsend for me many times.

The Dr that did the necropsy for me on those white rocks a few weeks back has been practicing vet med since 1962 (yeah, he's an old gheeser) but seems to know his stuff. Told me to call them ANYTIME! They were FAR from being busy when I was there....

Might be worth a call or at least keeping his # handy. His name is Dr John Bohanan and I have 2 numbers for him

706-278-7306 Dalton
770-258-0300 Bremen

Praying everything gets better for Issac and that things settle down for you and Tom soon!!!

Scott

Thanks, all. Scott, thanks for the numbers. I haven't seen any of the birds today--ended up in the emergency room with a bad migraine last night. Even after Demerol, it was threatening to come back this morning. Nora has been moved to the broody pen since today is Day 19 for her and Tom said she has settled down on the eggs. Gosh, bet they're moving underneath her, which is probably why she is sticking to them in the strange environment. Hopefully, Ike's toe will continue to heal. Will update that when we re-bandage him.

As far as Whitmore, Will's stock came from hatcheries originally, but I know he's been improving them over the years. There are so few actual Delaware breeders, anyone who is really working on them is appreciated.

Cyn, I hope that dang headache goes away NOW- TOTALLY!!!! You stay down and stay cool till it goes completely!

Prayers and hugs!!!!

GO, Nora!!!!!

It's day 16 for Harriet-
fl.gif

When I change her food dish or water, she ruffles up and does a little high pitched snarl/trill at me, which just makes me laugh! I do wish she would eat and drink more. It's funny, her buddy Hermione does not know what to do without her- sometimes she stands by the opening in the hay where Harriet is and squawks at her to come out.

I am trying to figure out a way to secure the area where she is instead of moving her so the chicks won't roll on to the floor when they hatch. I think I will wrap hardware cloth around the bales on either side of her after I slowly inch them farther apart, and let the hay bales under her be the floor. Once she has hatched out, and if she seems good with the chickies, I will move her and babies into the brooder if I can. She is a free ranger, and I am afraid she won't like confinement, though. May have to devise plan B.

When does Ike get a bandage change?
