Yes, I do like the girls from that hatch. They seem to be bigger than my first girls. They are just now becoming more friendly, where my first girls have always been overly affectionate.

I am so sad to have to say that I lost 2 of my Roos and I don't know if I lost hens (from the fox while I was on vacation) I had quite a few hens and I think I am missing some but I never did count them all.

I am broken hearted and I was having a hard time posting on here but it is time to get over it and move forward.

I wanted to tell Lady Hawk how sorry I am that you lost Thor. Kathy told me a few days ago and I feel really bad for you. You sure loved that Roo. Were you able to get any offspring from him Lady Hawk?

I am glad to say I have one Roo left and he is from you Cynthia and he was actually one of two I was going to keep. Fortune smiled on me.

One of these days when all the girls are pure again I am going to hatch some babies to make me smile and laugh. I love those Del chicks.

Kathy, your Roos are stunning. Ohhh la la!

Germaine I am so sorry about your losses. I know how it hurts. I did not get any Thor offspring because I had never caught Athena laying to know what her egg looked like.

I sure do miss him...still. I did come home with eggs from Cyn's when I went down to pick up Ebony, Baize and DeDe. I just got two orp babies and a Dellie/EE cross from those eggs.

I will be getting a dark blue orp boy from Sarah when I take Baize to her...and then we can see what I get from these two babies...so hopefully I can get a choice of great boys.

Ladyhawk.....you better go lay claim to half of that BIG OLE BARN of yours before DH sets up too many metal shops out there!!! If I had that big ole thing, I would be TRULY dangerous!!!....and my feed bill would be outrageous, ooopss

President Obama on "The View" today!!!

So, I gotta rant for a second!

Oil spill in the gulf killing off the wildlife AND the local economy

US unemployment remains at an all time high

There are more foreclosures, bank failures, small business closings, etc EVER in the history of this great United States

We are fighting not one, but several, wars overseas

.....etc ,etc


....and yet he, who thinks he is above all others, has time to appear on a TALK SHOW??!!! Give me a freakin' break!! Wonder how many taxpayer dollars it took to fly him and his entourage to NYC and back??!!!!

Scott don't get me started. However don't worry he didn't go to NY directly to be on the View, he was here in NJ at a local sub shop. Weren't we all so lucky?

Germaine, yes, wasteful. But pointless and brutal, and if it ever happens to me, I don't know what I would do- I am thinking hugs at you as hard as I can!

This is an Orp story, but because it is about Ultrasuede's son, I thought I could tell it here. It started to rain yesterday afternoon, and I ran out to make sure the new coop wasn't leaking- I heard absolute screeching from the nursery pen, and hurried over. I thought I saw Harriet and little Boo running all over the place, with no sight of the other three babies. I couldn't figure it out, till I got in there and realized that Katia, my lovely BBS girl from the next pen, had flown over the separation fence and Little Boo WAS CHASING HER, yelling his head off at her! Harriet and the other three were in their coop. I thought I would die laughing- Boo was maybe 9 days old yesterday and Katia is a big girl- guess he thinks he is one tough little roo! I scooped him up in one hand and stuffed him in his coop and returned Katia, who was absolutely quiet and docile in my arms (remember this is an Orp), and possibly glad to be saved from the little terror.
