Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Well heck Beth look at the look on Boo's face! I would be scared too! Thanks for the laughs, I can see it in my mind...

He should be a great protective roo for you if he is that diligent at his ripe ol' age of 9 days.

And thanks for the

LOL. I know you warned me but she's just too dang cute!! AND OMG LOUD. She is SO LOUD. I can hear her from the garage when I am alllllllllll the way in the
back of our yard. Sheesh!

Trying to get my head on straight and then I will see pics of the birds or even someone elses and I just want to sit and cry. Dumb, but I really miss them.

Not dumb. Not at all. I lost 3 of mine recently to a dog and I cried about it for a week. I would see their pictures, walk past where we buried them, feed the others and think of the ones I lost, and just cry. For me, they are pets, you know? I miss them so much and most of all I feel horrible that they died. They could have been running around my yard, eating snacks, bathing in the sun, and instead they're dead. It's tough! Hang in there.

Thank you. I am very sorry you lost some of yours too. And yes, I miss looking out my window and watching all the fun antics in the yard that they would do. Now they are stuck in a coop and pen and they aren't happy about it. But they are alive!

Here is a pic of my lone Roo. He is a bit beaten up and I don't know who did it. But he is enjoying his harem of hens now.

Germaine, he is a VERY handsome guy- great comb and deep chest and looks nice and sturdy- I am glad you still have him! Does he have a sweet personality?

I have gotten very attached to Boo and Spot, dang! I don't WANT crossbred roosters. Oh well.

Germaine,
I am glad you still have a Delaware roo. He is a nice looking big boy, too. Do you still have some Delaware hens? That is just awful, having a predator. I am soooo sorry for all your losses. I know you have worked so hard with your flock too.

Funny how we get attached even when we don't want to. Come on' Beth look at his little face.... what an attitude! Ya gotta just love that.

Cynthia thank you! He is a handsome Roo and I am very grateful to have him--thanks to you! And he does have a sweet disposition. I can go into his pen, collect eggs and feed and water and he never, ever challenges me. But he does watch me! He is a good boy. And I absolutely love to hear him when he clucks and coos to his girls...

I still have most of the hens Kathy and for that I am thanking my lucky Stars. I think the two roos probably died defending the girls. That is how I like to think of them going. Keep your pictures coming pretty please. I love to see all the living works of art.

I am finally getting a few minutes to catch up and post some pics of my dellie's that I got from Zephyrcreek. Sorry to hear that so many of you are suffering from the heat. I promised that I would not complain about the heat as long as we actually got a summer this year. Last year the average high temp for July was 64 degrees. This year we have been up to 90 or so. I do remember well those hot humid summers in Georgia.
Anyway here is Fergus,

And here he is with his girls checking out the garden, possibly trying to figure out how to get in there.
