Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

NellaBean, I must agree with speckledhen oops Kathy. I would cull those birds pronto...all of the trades not just the ones that showed sickness. What type of illness? Is it cocci? or something else minor like worms? If it was anything other than one of those I would cull. I would also watch my own flock...did you transport them home with your birds or were they in a separate container? Also, let Sarah know which person it was so we can make sure they do not bring birds to the next one. Neither she nor I have a problem with telling someone to turn around and leave because of bringing sick birds.

The cochin boy I liked was the darker one that you brought to the show. I will let you know this week. Hubby and I are going to figure out all the housing and etc for what we have...and once I have a better idea of how I am going to house them I can let you know. If the mille girl you are discussing for me came from old guy with the trade...I do not want her. I will never knowingly take a chance with my flock by getting a bird that comes from the same place as sick birds.

It was actually Kathy who made the suggestion, Ladyhawk, but yes, I completely agree. If it was respiratory, culling is the only option, to my way of thinking. I also agree, no sick birds allowed at swaps and if someone brings them, turn them right back around and out the door.

On a Delaware note, Isaac is back with the girls after spending a couple days in the hospital cage due to us removing the scab on his toe and having to rebandage it. He seems fine. When we let him out, all the younger girls were dropping into a squat right and left--boy didn't know which way to turn, LOL! It was like bowing before the king! Charlotte on the other hand, after being mated by him immediately, began doing her fluffing out-broody cluck ploy to discourage him. Sorry, Charlotte, Ike is probably getting wise to that one!

Charlotte should have pulled that faking broody nonsense BEFORE Ike mated her...what a nitwit she can be. LOL I told you Ike would wise up to that silliness. hahahha but she gets a Perfect 10 for her craftiness.

I should pay attention to the names or at least the direction the roo is facing when looking at the avatars.
