Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Oh awesome Kathy, thank you! That gives me some hope that she'll be okay. She is really quite heavy, and I wonder if everything else in addition to her "fluffy" figure might make it difficult for her.....

Off to read. And make a list. I started the B-12 today, I'll get the E and PolyViSol <<can I get this at Tractor Supply Co you think??

All the vitamins are human vitamins. You can get them at WalMart or a pharmacy. I have used Vitamin B Complex tablets, as there are more B vitamins than just the B-12, etc.. A whole one crushed up and put into feed (scrambled egg and applesauce). The PolyViSol is a kids vitamin, it is made by Enfamil, and is a liquid (with a dropper). I had to use the vitamin treatment with botulism last year. Hey, it works! Best of luck to you!

Elias, where did you get those chicks? Delaware chicks do NOT have chipmunk stripes down their backs. NO WAY did you get Delaware chicks, and you need to have a few words with whoever sold you those chicks.

Where are you located? You have a 'bator? You need to start over, friend. There are good people here who could send you eggs- you should probably wait till spring, but I think you got gypped.

hmmmm ok lol... when im talking chipmunk stripes i mean 2 lines running down there back they where a grayish brown color... the chicks i am hatching dont have this tho... just a few of them with a dot on there heads...

i wonder what made there chick down off color??? the adults look spot on for Delawares besides the white im the roo's tail... if they where crossed with something it would have to be several generations ago...

yep i have a rather large bator that i have had running sence may lol... i only have about 400 chicks and chickens... 30 ducks... 300 quail... and a few guineas... i am totaly adicted to hatching lol...

im in Clinton Arkansas... and i think ill have to order some eggs from on hear... so who has the best Delawares on BYC??? no fighting now lmao...

There are a couple things that can cause legs to lose mobility, Mereks.. aspergollisis (I'm probrably mis-spelling it again) and Lymphoid leukosis off the top of my head. If I were you, I would google each one and learn about them... only you would know which one seem most likely. Good luck!

My pullet's from Mr. Braden are almost 5 months old now, I was outside this morning and took a couple pictures of them.

Stewart with the girls, 2 of the pullets didn't want to come out of the run this morning.

Jeremy- can you get level side shots of them? The color looks so wonderful, but it's hard to tell the shape, or at least it is for me. I love the hackles on the girls, and Stewart is looking so dang studly!

Beth, I can try later this afternoon. They like to be in your face when taking pictures, typical Delawares.

That's why it was so easy for me to get those head on shots.

They're starting to fill out, weight wise as well. I picked one of them up today and I was surprised by how much heavier she was. I'm excited to see how the continue to mature over these next few months.
