Kathy- LOVE the new avatar- that is a keeper! And yes, the comb comparison is great, send that on over to the site, please! You have beautiful hens, they really are. Mine look so raggy right now. They lost that plump look once they started laying, and I can't get weight back on them. I have wormed them with Valbazen, I stuff food down them, I don't know what it is, except that they are so active??? And Alexander gives them a work out! LOL!

hope you get a great hatch!

Thanks Jolet!

I am on the edge of my chair! I don't know that I have been this excited over a hatch in a long time. These babies are going to be for DH's enjoyment( and of course mine)...though he will not be the one caring for them.....he actually took an interest in these birds when I showed him a photo of Kathy's. He has never told me "Oh.....now that one is pretty!" and meant it. This time was different...he really likes these birds. When I am reading about them I catch him looking over my shoulder. I even got him to finally help build a coop......"only because it's for your Delawares" he said.

That was the point, to drum up some real interest in this awesome breed that needs your help to improve and come back in good numbers; good numbers of good Dels, that is! Well, since DH loves them, too, Emily does have 5 Delaware eggs under her, even if they all belong to Ellie.Ellie is my best Delaware hen, so that's not a bad thing, for them to all be hers.
