and the BR's as they fit perfectly here on the Dellie thread beings they are the Grandparent breeds that were used to create the beautiful Delaware breed.

One of these days I'll holler atcha about maybe purchasing some NH eggs, I've got to do some serious downsizing and/or more barn building to make MORE room for my insane chicken addiction

Here is Isaac today. I posted this pic because you can see that, though he is a bit dirty, he isn't yellowing like many of the Delaware lines seem to do. He's such a love, this guy. Can't you see the kindness in his eyes? He has soft eyes. I see that I need to trim his beak again. He and Zane always need beak trims. Ike is still getting in his hackles post-molt.

My hens are still growing and molting. When they have finished this molt I will post some pics. of my three. Two are definitely widenning out the other is still a little narrow. Their color is not set yet because of the molting. I hope they will be nice. My only one with a wavey type comb is laying. The red of the coomb is just beautiful against the white. The other two have pretty combs so far.
Since I got them from Scott and he got them from you were they children of Isaac's ? Gloria Jean

check out these delawares i picked up today from a guy off CL. they were advertised as a pair of pullets and a cockerel, all about 14 or 15 weeks old (hatched on aug 3rd). i'm pretty sure of one of the pullets and the roo. what do you think?

unsure of this little bird. i'm about 75% sure pullet because the shanks are smaller and lighter than the roo.

99% sure this is a pullet. also look at the brown on her back feathers. is that common in juvy dels or is she maybe mixed with something (first experience with this breed)?

Isaac, Isaac, Isaac ! ! !

You know he is my favorite roo ..... father of my Jacob, who I love to death! They look exactly alike and I have slipped several times, and said, "Isaac," when talking about Jacob!

I can not post a picture of Jacob, because he is molting. BUT, he is gonna look even better after he is finished! I love my Jacob!

Oh, I forgot to answer questions ....
Oliver is a 3-12-2010 hatch, so about 9 months old. Oliver's tail got plucked (by me) because he had a big ol' white feather, and a big ol' black feather, so I plucked them, to see how the new ones will be.

The Barred Rocks and New Hampshires are all spring 2010 hatches also, though I do not have exact dates on them.

?... Forgive my ignorance... What is wrong with his beak? Is it hereditary?

There's nothing wrong with it. My crippled rooster, Zane, must have his trimmed from time to time, too. Not sure why Isaac doesn't do what keeps it worn down, but he just doesn't and it gets too long.

Took a couple pictures of my 10 Delaware chicks. They are 4 weeks old, and at that ugly stage. I think I got a 50-50 mix on sexes. Now to see what they turn out to look like. I am anxious to see their markings. One hatched with a little dot of color on its head AND its back. I have never had that before.
