Here's a couple updated pictures of my Del pair! Not the best... but theyr'e kinda cute. They were all snuggled up for the night, when I went to cut the lights off.
Aww! Cute pics Nicole! That's one of the things I love about Del's. None of that "Hoity Toity" attitude that makes some birds think that they're too good to snuggle up to anyone other than their own kind. Heck no! My two little goobers have taken to snuggling up to Aunti GeeGee these days! [no relation to the girls] I think they're getting kind of tired of Mama Maggie eating their neck feathers!

Girl, you need to pick your time to snuggle up with him! Chief is at his most affectionate with me after breakfast, and then again just before bed time, and right after they've had their bed time snack. There's a hint in there I think. Maybe make sure their tummy's are full? Maybe a well fed rooster is a contented and much more approachable rooster perhaps?
I'm not sure. But in hindsight, it sure sounds good.
With my other boys, well, CB is approachable any time of the day or night. That little goober just loves to be snuggled! What can I say?! He's my little Casanova!
Brutus likes to be snuggled at bed time, most of all. But he will allow the occasional petting and being picked up during the day. He's just a big lovable brute! And then there's Red. *sigh* I know this bird has genuine good regard for me. He'll purr for me at night for crying out loud! But try to approach him during daylight hours, and oh, you can just forget that noise! He ain't having none of it!
At night, he's a completely different animal. He will snuggle down in my arms and completely fall asleep. Any body ever hear one of their chickens snore? I have!
And believe me, it beats the heck out of hearing the DH snore!
These are 2 little buggers that I hatched out yesterday from eggs I got from Bargain. I've got three 8 month old hens and a roo as well. Delawares have become my favorite breed.

Well I stopped in to say Happy New Year to everyone and I mean it, but I've never seen such "white" chicks. Look like they've been dunked in white paint.
