Oh, but I do! The cheaper the better, and free is best! I enlisted the help of my son, and we tore down a triple sized old garage and a large shed, just to get the free lumber. I am a hoarder of junk that might make it's way into a chicken coop.

Currently I have 10 foot wide trusses (13 or 14 of them) in my junk pile, just waiting to be made into a coop.

I am wicked with power tools.

I am with ya on that one! I am a garbage picker from way back! LOL - amazing with a little imagination what you can find and do with things!

Kathy, those two little brown chicks closest to the feed dish in the "ghetto" brooder....are those two of the Icelandic's? Soooo cute! And the Del's are looking awesome!!

Yup! That's the brooder design I'm gonna have to get busy and build sometime in the next week or so. I think GeeGee is maybe gonna need it. I sure as heck don't want to have her and the eggs out in the coop at hatching time.

Hmmm....I wonder if I can get Nella to email me her material list and set of instructions on the construction of those 2 tiered brooders of her.....I betcha I can!

Yes, I want some too, just in case! Do broodies work under the "build it and they will go broody" rule?

I LOVE to hoard stuff. DH does not. We are in constant disagreement about what we need to keep and what we don't.

I don't have any chicks young enough to give her.

Could I ask for some instructions on that set up? You know Side A , Side B and BACK and FRONT and all stuff like the Chinese do with all that stuff they make cheap and sell expensive. Does anyone have a coop designated to broody hens?

Thanks everyone I'm planning a Broody town of Broody houses.

These are the instructions we used to make them.

Mine finished: I put linoleum on the floors for easy cleaning, and I cut half the top off and used hardware cloth so I can use it as a brooder.

Well I ain't headed to Home Depot yet but I got a gift card I been saving. I may use it for this. I just need to know where I'm gonna put it. That and it's freezing out. Good garden o' peas the eggs are cracking.

Thanks.

Would I be asking to much if I asked you to e-mail them pics to me? I know it's over and above the call of duty but I'd like to print them out even though it will use a lot of ink.
