I agree, Camille! I like the males from Janet's stock much better than some other lines I've seen and you can't beat the hens for being super friendly. Isaac is a fabulous rooster, always has been. He's funny, though. He doesn't seem to like the Barred Rock hens much, isn't that weird? He can't stand Fern and chases her away all the time. She hates him, too, so it's mutual, LOL.

Hello everyone (and hello Kathy!). Somewhere online, I have read that Delaware roosters don't crow much. Is this true? Thank you.

Pam, the ones I have had have been normal crowers, I guess. I don't consider them excessive, but they are not exceptionally silent birds, either. But that is just my experience.

My hens, Issac's daughter's, are wonderfully friendly. They have passed that personality on to the chicks I hatched out a few weeks ago - good girls!!

Camille, in that picture, his tail is a tad high, but that is certainly a good looking roo. I do like Domino, too, love the bowl shape body.

Hi all.. I've had Delawares in the past and have decided to expand the flock now and acquire some nice birds... I just got a shipment in from Will Morrow, but I would also like to have another line in as well.. can anyone recommend a breeder with good stock that I could purchase some hatching eggs from? I concentrate on heritage breeds and would really like to start working with a nice group of Delawares.
