Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

So now here is my next question. Is too much marigold extract a bad thing for the birds? Or any marigold extract for that matter? I am raising my chickens to be good for eggs and meat first and to look good second...so would this ingredient be something that should be avoided? I opted to buy this feed because when I read the ingredients it looked more natural than the other options I had at my local feed store.

One thing I will say....I think we have proven that it does work for making yellow legs!

I am finding this very interesting. Thanks for posting the info Kathy

I wish there was a chat room on BYC so that we could enter into a true conversation. It seems that several of us are online and interested in talking about this.

hmmm....maybe a skype session sometime? lol

I don't think it is a bad thing for the birds at all. As a matter of fact, I just ordered some of the Purina (Honor) Show Chow/Broiler Complete which has Tagetes. Darn it, I want some yellow legs!

There are several people interested in this topic. I prefer to post, so we can refer back to it.

That is true...and something I was thinking about as well. I have learned so much by searching the old threads on here.

OK - - -I am monitoring this topic and am wondering how the feathering is going to be affected by the feed.

I have been told that feeding too much corn will cause yellowing in the feathers....
I am wondering if when you get the really yellow legs, you will in turn end up with the yellowing of the feathers.

Stevenson - - - HOW OLD ARE YOUR DELAWARES?
