So do I! I'd love a Dellie like that.

So, is Floozy one of Kathy's girls? Is she from the project?

I'm trying to learn which strains may go broody since that's something that I value in my flocks.

Is anyone going to have Delawares that will go broody for sale at the Nationals?

Thank you,
Kim

Floozy is one of my Delaware girls in with Oliver, not one of the projects. She is a hoot .... always making trouble.

I will be at Crossroads, but am not sure yet what I will have. My girls are molting, and what I have hatched so far are sold.

Glad to hear of yet another broody from my bunch! I can almost tell who comes from Floozy. Who else would produce such stubborn personalities in their kids?

Probably you.......

at what age does everyone do their culling
mine are about 5 month old

but the pullets i have 4-5 that are much bigger
and don't know if the others will catch up and be as nice
thanks

It really depends on what faults are showing . . . . I just culled a 24 week old cockerel.
I just couldn't decide if his faults were bad enough for me not to try some compensatory breeding.

Before that I culled a 12 week old cockerel because I spotted a really bad side spring / partial carnation type comb.
I spotted slip wing issues at 14 weeks and culled that cockerel.

For a cockerel to stay on my property .. . he must bring more to the breeding table than the roos I already have.
He doesn't have to be perfect, just better than the previous generation.
