Show Off Your Games!

Reminds me of a friend of mine from Back in the day he had an old ford ranger fixed it up a little and had multiple trophies on his wall cause no body else entered his class at the shows

Oh ok then u shoulda won by default

I am laughing a bit on this end. I think the judges, at least the second one as not all that keen on having them place even without competition. The judges clearly have a very narrow concept of what games should look like, at least for the purpose of a beauty contest. You cant just be good looking, you must have on the right hair style and dress too.

I think we meet the type criteria just fine but the standard with respect to color is downright artificial. If one where to start selecting to meet the color standards then you would have to let a lot of other criteria games typical meet slide. Also the judges seem partial to the huge showy tails which are of the sort I think actually slow the birds down. They also seem partial to birds that always seem locked in a vigilante mood with tails totally spread and neck as if getting ready to crow.

I always spray bleach around before putting new babies in where I have had other birds before, you never know. However around here we also have industrial strength cleaner and disinfectant that we have to use due to us having a special breeding facility for the Emus. I have to use that every single week just to keep up with things, the kids are starting to get tired of the Emus, and I have just about had it with them lately, way to big for me to handle with my bad back.

I went in partners with a guy to raise emus when the craze first hit our area about 20 or so yrs ago. They were ok but very courious animals. I remember one day the sheriffs office called me I was on duty at the fire dept. and said my partners emus were out and to come catch them. That day 3 deputies got a crash course on grabbing a wing letting them run past then grabbing the other wing and walking them back. They first tried to man handle them which we both know doesn't work

Oh lordy they may be worth a lot of money however they can be a major PITA. I told hubby I am tired of doing something and have one smack into me and then walk on me like I am dirt. They act like humans are toys. My son is also to the point to where one of my males will chase him every time he sees him, scares the crap out of him. My son may be tall but he weighs only 120 pounds.
