Haha... mostly. She is mixed game, like all my chickens. Other than hatch she has a good portion of "black" blood. about 3/8 I think.

She is one of my favorites right now. She is actually sitting on a clutch of 10 eggs

Thanks I really like the slate blue legs as well... She got those legs from her grandma (RIP) who looked exactly like this hen (full sister).

That is what I called "black"... but you are right he is a brown red... the golden hen I posted is his aunt.

These are his grandparents. this combo produces the golden hens. The mother is "black grey".. dont know the actual breed of her.. I aquired her in a trade. Would she be considered Brown Red or Birchen?

Well I think the brown red hens have more of a copper color in their hackle feathers. Does your hen have black legs?

Color wise the hen looks like a Silver Birchen.

Yeah hen has black legs... Silver birchen is what I thought too.
