Show Off Your Games!

That's what I was concerned about. And that's y I was asking on here, to learn information from people who love them. Instead of researching and reading opinions from people who don't care for them because THEY didn't learn what they were doing 1st.

I have silkies, but they r in a my sizzle project pen. I was thinking Cochins to add to my EE pen, maybe I'll just stick to that. Lol

That seemed to work well. At some point there could be a proper description about how games can be kept. We show the birds but do not do much in the way of indicating how pens or other types of containment actually work.

Last year we hatched out over 100 chicks of our own. We get a 98% success rate on our own eggs, or if I buy locally. I however was hatching out shipped eggs. The roo will be culled tonight, and I will be most likely using him for soup. As for heat they were under a heat lamp. the reason why they were moved from the bator is because they banged a few eggs together and put chips in them. No the chicks didn't have yolk sacks the one that never came out of the egg, still had a yolk sack attached. When a chick is not positioned right in the egg, this will cause them to die in there. Which is what we found out with the eggs when we broke them open. Their heads were no wheres near the air sack. A few still had good sized yolk sacks so they gave up real early. I have 3 brooders here and 2 at the big property. If you didn't want the roo then why did you tell me you wanted him???

I was nice enough to help you, when you needed the help. And you treat me like this??? Why because I said I wouldn't trade the game chicks for the Yokohamas that you have??? If we had to put in all of the years I have worked with chickens and other birds then we would be talking over 40 years.

My brooder up to the big farm is full of very rare breed chicks, all but 3 eggs hatched out of 60. The reason why the other 3 didn't hatch is because they were not fertile. Not a single issue. However those were our own eggs. Shipped eggs and our own eggs are a big difference. Only 1 chick has died out of the 57 chicks, and that one was a big time peeper. However I can not place these games in with the others, because the other chicks are 4 times there size. I hatch out Emu eggs all the time and no issues, but when you start doing shipped eggs that is where issues start happening.

All of my incubators are equipped with a mister as well, so every time you open it a mist of water goes out, this way you don't have to worry about shrink wrapping chicks. However i don't have to explain myself at all. But just remember how some folks help you out when you need it.
it isn't that I don't want him Its i can't get him I do appreciate that help and it has nothing to do with those game chicks there's not much game wise I couldn't get for myself but after speaking with you face to face I just don't think you to be who you seem like on here easy to look up facts behind a cpu to seem like you have knowledge but when I got you face to face you couldn't tell me what anything was your son did... I'm not here to argue either

So just because my son was busy talking and talking that means I don't know anything at all about my chickens down here??? Ask him how many times he has left hens out because he can't count worth crap. 8 hens and 1 rooster and he can't count 8 hens.

Nothing at all like doing an evening check and finding 5 hens outside the coop because someone can't count. My way of counting them: 4 reds, 1 rooster, 2 GLW's and 2 odd balls.

I haven't left a single one out now in over 2 years of having my laying hens down here. But put my son in charge for the evening while I am busy at the big property and a few get left out. Wait until he has over 40 to count.

I have learned my lesson and now do a head count as soon as I get home in the evenings.

I am a busy person, and normally am busy figuring things out for my husband business, busy with things on my mind about the big property and where things are going to be done the next day. I don't have time to talk about my laying hens, since the only 2 there that are pure are the 2 GLW's that belong to my youngest daughter. And to top all that off when you came that day I had supper in the oven.

My life is an open book, always has been always will be. Just remember though that the one that was asking for help was you, and when folks out of the goodness of their heart give you something to help you, you should at least appreciate it. Even if you didn't really need the help, which by the sounds of it, you really didn't.

Your job now is to make your place predator proof.
