What bloodline of whitehackles are you looking for?

I do not know. That is part of the slow. I am looking for some old type American games to refresh one of my lines. Weight needs to be in the low fives. Inbred as sin not a problem but they need to be sound.

Anyone have hens that go through two sets of tail feathers each fall. I have some, all related, that drop there tails twice each year. First time is back in August and second is about now. Same line when really hot back in 2012 changed even body feathers twice in one year at about the same time. The feathers they kept for a short time where a bit darker than those that came in later. Same strain also shows eclipse molt on cockside very consistently.


I never really watched this very close until recently. My brother's birds that are kin do the same so not likely a location effect.

I have a bird that partially molts yearly then right before Winter she goes through an extreme molt and loses all her feathers. All my other birds molt part by part like wings, back, neck, and then head. But she drops almost every feather she has.
