Creeper here just chiming in on tufts...
Breeding tufted to tufted birds will result in at least 25% chicks receiving both genes and will die in shell. Receiving two copies of the gene causes improper closing of the pharyngeal sac during development, leaving a hole in the throat. When the chick pips into the air cell, it drowns. Chicks usually die in shell at day 18 or 19. Chicks that receive two copies of the tuft gene can hatch but usually do not live long.
