Cubalaya,
Come on over and visit a while. Lots of great Cubalaya breeders. I've been at it a little over a decade and have birds from most of the major strains within the US. Glad you got my message. By the way, you have some nice looking birds. saladin

I don't know anyone that has ever done this. Nor do I have any idea why they would: all it would do is mess up the gameness of an American and the beauty of a Cubalaya. I think you are confusing Cubalayas with something else. saladin

When they don't have brown in the wings they are not technically a bbr. It looks to be solid black in the flights. Though cockers I know would most likely refer to it as a Black Breasted Dark Red. And you do have to remember they are the ones that came up with all the color names to start with. However, nowadays they have names the fancy doesn't use and vice versa.

I used this type to develop my black line. If he didn't have so much top color I'd call him a polecat. Seeing that he does....? Put him back over a wheaten hen and you should get some good BBR sons, I would think.

Regardless, type comes first and this looks to be a first class bird.

OK you guys here's the pictures of my first offspring. The question is how do I know stags from pullets? Some are light some are dark & some of the dark ones have "eye liner".
What do you think?
