Does it bend at a weird angle? Did you see the accident?

I would get him into a tub of lukewarm water deep enough to float in and watch carefully.

Consider having a trusted friend call a vet and find out what the risks might be (regarding your worries about putting him down).

Ducks can recover from serious injuries, as long as they get the right help.

A wooden coffee stir stick, some cotton padding and vet wrap may be needed to immobilize - I am not a vet or vet tech….

I am not from Florida, but it appears to me you can have Muscovies, you just can't release them.  I wouldn't think your vet could put them down without your consent, but I would imagine you could find out for sure just by calling them.  (Anyone from Florida want to chime in?).

It is my understanding that if a Muscovy is hurt, the vet has to put him down since they are an invasive species to FL. I hope I'm wrong. I'll call tomorrow or hace someone to call and ask.

He can't stand on it. I don't know what happened. He flew away and he's been hanging around the canal behind my house. There is a gentleman who leaves right there so he knows the duck is mine and came over to my house to let me know he was hurt. Right now he's sitting with me. He has drank and ate a bit. I just recorded a video so you can see his leg. There is no open wound and no swealing that I can see. I'm calling anonymously several vets tomorrow

But I don't know if I should immobileze his leg or something?

It may be a pull or a sprain - let him float in some water and watch the leg carefully. You may be able to see what's going on.

If it is a pull or a sprain, you need to keep him fairly quiet (he may not like it, but then it's tough love). I would put Epsom salt compresses on the leg three times a day (dissolve Epsom salt in lukewarm water, soak a clean rag, wring it out halfway and wrap that around the whole leg and hold him for several minutes). Don't let him eat or drink Epsom salt, it is a laxative.

I would follow that with a dab of T-Relief rubbed into the leg.

And if it's a break - that treatment ought to still help a little.

Not easy to see if it's a break - good video, though. I would still suggest what I mentioned. The Epsom salt and T-Relief should help relieve the pain by reducing swelling, also.

I agree with Tevyes Dad call a vet you know, but I do believe you can have them in Fl you just can't release them we have quite a few members who live in Fl with Muscovy's.

@ILOVEMYDUCKLING Do you feel any breaks when you gently run you hand along his leg? did he jump off of something? The quicker you get help for him the quicker he will heal.
Keep him quiet and where he can't injure it anymore especially till you find out what is wrong. Very hard for us to tell by a pic. could be broken or sprained. Put some poultry vitamins in his water just to keep his immune system going while recuperating.
