Show off your house ducks!

Took some Bean photos! Just waitin' on my lazy hubby to get around to uploading them :p

Now that her personality is able to shine though I've found that she's such a sweetie, but not the brightest bulb, I'm afraid. Today after giving her fresh food and a new towel she took a mouthful of crumble, dropped it on the ground, and ate it off the ground while standing IN the food bowl! Ducks, man. XD

She's beginning to remind me of Harley. Or, as she was originally nicknamed, Derpy. She still hasn't figured out what steps are for. EVERY other duck that lives here knows how to use the step to get into the pool. Not her. She'll try to climb over the side right next to the step. Occasionally she accidently gets it right, but she's usually oblivious.

She could be like Tevye... He isn't dumb, but he thinks out of the box, out of the warehouse, two blocks down the street at the ice cream parlor.

I hope so, that would be the best thing EVER! ...I admit it's hard not to compare her to Milkshake. I feel really bad about that, but I guess it's inevitable. Shakey was a real firecracker and smart as a whip! She'd have been a handful, but a joy to have, I'm sure. At least she's at peace now...I get to pick up her tiny footprint plaque Thursday.

I'm just so relieved Bean is gonna make it. My face can't stop grinning. She really is an absolute sweetheart, and she loves snuggles <3 She's miles away from the frightened, skittish little thing we picked up in Olympia!

No kidding. I really thought we were gonna lose her, she was in horrible shape Wednesday and Thursday. She wouldn't even move, she just let her head flop onto the ground and lie there. ;; I don't think I've ever been so worried, I couldn't even keep food down! But thanks to my amazing vet and the generosity of all you guys, she made it. Beyond all odds. She's a fighter, that's for sure! Good an' stubborn, just like her mama!

Those are Saxony teens! The drakes will get chocolate brown chests and silver heads as they mature. A certain someone matching their description and reeking of spring mud pond water just terrorized the cats, stole their food, and is now fast asleep and snoring on top of me on the bed...
...and here comes a cat... By all means everyone, just pile on! I don't need to move, or feel my extremities....

I love this!!! ChaCha does that when she sleeps on the bed. If she can't be ON your head, she perches on your arm. And then, heaven help you if you should so much as shiver Lol

ChaCha is such the boss of everything.  And she knows it.  Riding in a bike basket would send me into orbit if I saw that.  Her cute puff on her head and her looking around.

She loves the wind! I think she secretly wishes she was a petite little call duck instead of the lumbering pekin fat monster that she is =P

MissBehavin is now showered and clean like a proper house duck. It gave me a chance to give her a good once over as well. She decided that proper house ducks do not take tub baths, they take showers. Like any teen, she spent a lot of time in her shower...
Fitted her diapers, and promptly lost an entire package of Velcro. Since she has some back bruising, I decided not to use nylon webbing for the adjustable strap, and of course am now stuck until I locate the errant Velcro... So close, and yet so far away!!
And oh that hen voice carries. Her mother is very quiet. She is a talker...

I've never been able to convince duck or goose that showers are the way to go. ChaCha will take it, but she much prefers baths. Sometimes if she's gotten into something nasty - you know, like walking under the parked car and coming out the other side caked in oily goo - I'll bring her in the shower and wring my shampoo hair over her to get her all soaped up for a good momma washin.

Poor little girl! I hope her back heals up fast. That's too funny how she prefers showers, LOL! Sometimes I take Wobs into the shower with me, he seems to like it but it's not ideal because it's kinda hard to shampoo with a duck underfoot.

I can't wait until Bean is strong enough to put back in the bath, we discovered she's a zoomie! Before she got sick we gave her one sink bath, she instantly darted underwater before promptly popping back up and started calling for mommy because it never occurred to her to simply look up. :p She's awfully sweet and gentle, but not the brightest crayon in the box.

Make sure and get us a zoomies video!!! I LOVE ducky zoomies! How can anyone resist that tiny fuzzy body having so much fun!

I'm so glad Bean is doing better!! You have quite the little firecracker there! It's wonderful!!!

This is my payback for having a down pillow. The tables are turned, and I'm the comfy pillow now. She shimmied up close to me and fell asleep...

SO CUTE!!! Naptime =)

I'm so glad to hear she's doing well and here to stay! I hope to have MANY bean pictures in our future!!
