Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

I sold the last of my turkeys, and once I'm back from vacation I'm going finish downsizing. Only bantams I'm keeping are Creles and Golden Sebrights (I hatched some that are 3/4 back to my Dad's line, and they're really nice).

I think if you seriously want to breed to standard, you need to limit what you're working with.
Absolutely. I have one variety of one breed that I'm keeping, and that's it. No more.

This little lady here i think is Dutch Bantam, but she looks kind of like an OEGB. i was reading chicken book one day and i stumbled upon a picture of a Dutch Bantam and it looked so much like her that i thought for a moment, "how did these people get my bantam to take her picture and put it in this book?" She is super broody all the time, lays tiny white eggs, and has grey legs. I was wondering if she really is a Dutch Bantam or an OEGB? can anyone tell me?

Can't see the earlobes. That will eliminate one or the other as an option.

Still amazed after all the babies I've brooded this year at how much they change in just a week. This one is especially adorable and feisty today. :love

One more weekish and I think we'll try a turnout with the big kids, now that everyone seems rather bored of each other already.

Looks like a pretty little girl to me! :)

Found one of my tiny male chicks dead in the run last night. Gone all day yesterday, been raining like cats and dogs for a few days. I had 2 little fellas that still hadn't gotten the hang of going up and down the ladder, so they would come to me at dark, and I'd put them in. It was just past dark when i got home and one was dead. Didn't see the other for sure, but pretty sure it was under momma in the coop. The one that died hadn't been thriving very well anyway, but i thought he was gonna make it. He was a cross of my SDW male and blue brassy hen. :(

Oh no, so sorry to hear that! I'm surprised my chicks haven't had heartattacks after last nights wicked awful storm and today's hawk swooping over the run right after I let them out. They couldn't scramble fast enough to duck inside.

And happy news, that mushy chick is still alive and has actually grown bigger than its other buff broodmate. :wee
