Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

That's like the Quaker/Monk parrots in New Orleans. Very pretty and cool...though I guess still an invasive species so not really a good thing.

They're actually not too bad. I own one, and they're illegal in some states since people are terrified that they will become agricultural pests, but that just hasn't proven to have been the case, especially since they don't really spread much because they are colony nesters.

If they did spread, the way I see it is they would probably just be taking the place of the Carolina conure, the United States' only native parrot species, that humans wiped out because they were considered a pest and ate crops.

I don't think she's an OEGB (gray legs are won't for black tail red) but looking for a second opinion or suggestion on breed/variety. I can't find pics of mahogany females so I don't know what they are supposed to look like.

Still amazed after all the babies I've brooded this year at how much they change in just a week. This one is especially adorable and feisty today. :love

One more weekish and I think we'll try a turnout with the big kids, now that everyone seems rather bored of each other already.
:love I miss having littles. Can't wait until next year's hatching season.

This little lady here i think is Dutch Bantam, but she looks kind of like an OEGB. i was reading chicken book one day and i stumbled upon a picture of a Dutch Bantam and it looked so much like her that i thought for a moment, "how did these people get my bantam to take her picture and put it in this book?" She is super broody all the time, lays tiny white eggs, and has grey legs. I was wondering if she really is a Dutch Bantam or an OEGB? can anyone tell me?

I'm going to hatch another 20 Crele or so in the fall. I think these are gonna produce something show worthy. Hatching then should allow them to be fully developed for the shows.
Love the Crele variety, they're truly beautiful. If I wasn't clearing out most of my other breeds to make more room for Chanteclers I'd be tempted to acquire some.

I sold the last of my turkeys, and once I'm back from vacation I'm going finish downsizing. Only bantams I'm keeping are Creles and Golden Sebrights (I hatched some that are 3/4 back to my Dad's line, and they're really nice).

I think if you seriously want to breed to standard, you need to limit what you're working with.
