I'm so happy it's a boy :) my rooster is 8 this is the last batch of chicks I'm going to hatch from his I will post pic's of him later :)

Had to share a few pictures of my first time mom with her three little fuzz balls. I think the whitest chick will be a splash. Does anyone have a guess on what color the striped chicks will be? This hen is probably not their biological mother, and the rooster is a blue wheaten.

The other two chicks look like they will be some variation of blue. They look nice.

CONSTANTLY! That's why I have reverted to building each breeding pair of Bantams their own chicken tractor. The roos will pick fights with all of my free ranging standard roos, through the wire. Bantams definitely have what is usually referred to as "Little Man Syndrome". They are GOING to pick a fight with the biggest guy on the block...constantly! Then try to steal their women! I don't know how well it would all work out, but they do try.

My LB OEGB goes into a fit of flirting every time one of my bearded Amie or EE hens gets near his tractor. But...only the bearded hens. He goes bananas over those girls. I guess he likes his girls large and with beards. He pretty much ignores the RiRs, sexlinks, Dominiques..etc. He just loves those bearded ladies. It's hilarious as he's the size of a Blue Jay, approximately.

That's hilarious! My bantam OEG's are in their own pasture and coop, separated from the standards by a driveway. I'm glad I decided to do that!

Oh - we have 2 EGGS and 2 golf balls in the nesting box. She's fussy over going near them, but still gets out and ranges with the other hen and the roo. Any of you that breed - do they generally lay more than 3 eggs before they start really going broody and not leaving the nest other than to eat, drink, and relieve themselves?

Just received my order of 40 bantams: 5 oeg spangeld, 5 oeg brown red, 5 oeg silver duckwing, 5 oeg mottled, 5 cornish spangeld, 5 cornish dark, 5 cornish blue laced red, and 5 black breasted modern.
I ordered my new flock from ideal poultry and am glad to say I have yet to have any losses. Chicks are a week old now and doing well. Can't wait till I have mature photos to post.
