Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

At the Central Indiana Poultry show, I bought a pair of crele old english game bantams. They are an older pair. I assume that when you cross crele and crele you get 100% crele. Am I correct in thinking this? O and silver duckwing X silver duckwing=100% silver duckwing? I would normally just assume when you cross the same colors together that you would get 100% that color. But I did that with BBS a long time ago and found that not to be the case.

I was playing with it one day, you can switch between 15 different languages. Looks really funny in Chinese.

I figured out how to get it to english. But I am still so confused. I cant figure out how to use it lol!

colors that breed true
white, black, crele, wheaten, b.b. red, quail, brassy back, brown red, splash colors, silver duckwing, red pyle.

colors that require some crossing, and throw sports
blues, brassy blues, lemon blues, any fawn colors.

these are the colors i work with, i dont know alot about the other colors.

I only have the crele pair and 4 silver duckwing. pullets and 1 cockerel.Thanks for the information. Finally something involving genetics that is not complicated and I can actually understand lol.

if your breeding for perfection or show, this book will get you started. it also has some color crossing techniques. there is a better book availble from baldwins for around $100.00 if your a serious breeder. this one is around $10

Watch for those res genes pop up at any time . I second buying the books if you wanting to breed and show could save you years in breeding for rare colors and traits. Are find a good mentor.

thank you, but I am not wanting to get serious into breeding OEGBs. I just wanted to know what the outcomes would be, so that their would be no suprises when I hatched eggs. I am breeding/going to start a few other breed(seriously), but understand all the genetics I need to know for them. the only "new" project I am going to working on is barred easter eggers and I have found a mentor, that I have already learned a lot from.

Well the hen from my crele pair died. I found her half dead. i couldnt get her to open her eyes, eat, or drink. She was in quarentine since I had just got her, and the only other one exposed to her was the rooster. His eye was foaming. Not sure what happened to her or what is wrong with him. I do think they are pretty old, but she was acting odd ealier in the day too, so it wasnt completley random. Plus the rooster acts as if he has no neck, he is always huddled down. not becuase he is cold, that is just how he stands. My silver duckwing cockerel dosent stand like that.
