It is said that the increased testosterone (male hormone) levels causes the swelling on the upper neck at this time of the year.Towards the end of the breeding season, this hormone level decreases triggering the molt and the bulged neck becomes flat along side.

Yes, this sounds correct.

Well, all of the Big Boys here have their own little territories this time of the year. Mr. Clucky's domain is at the neighbor's house so I don't see him all the time. But Pippy, who has taken over the role of Big Guy here around my house, is certainly not his usual sweet and friendly fellow.

And Zaz, I am 100% with you that I'll be SO GLAD when the breeding season is over.
All of the Big Boys have been harassing poor Peggy, who has a hard time getting away because of his bad leg.
He was very disturbed and exhausted today and caused me lots of worry.

Poor little fellow.

Aww poor peggy, that is why i locked up two of the 3 Amigos, they are up for sale anyhow, to many boys.
Master is now roosting in the pine tree by my bedroom window and he is screaming his darn fool head off .. It sounds like a jungle here when they all start making that cat call together.

The peas and i found something today we were just starting our walk and all of a sudden i head a swarm of bees, looked up and there they were, so i got out a box and hope to coax them in tomorrow, they were feeding on the sugar water and the sugar water inside so i got my fingers crossed , wished that limb wasn't 30 foot up. can you spot the swarm?

Peas checken out my handy work deciding if they want to fly up there and taist those pretty flowers.

The bees are very hungry finished this jar in less than an hour.

The boys on their roost yesterday. I think their tails are growing nicely. Their roost is a little over 5 feet high, so that gives an idea of how long their tails are.
