Show off your Peas!

Thanks Kathy and Zaz, from Jailbird Peggy

!
Don't worry, Zaz, he did fly up into the tree to roost when he got out of the pen.
I have no idea how something grabbed him and pulled primary flight feathers out of BOTH wings.
Or how he got away! Lucky for me that he did.

That is very strange, new feathers do not come out easily

are you sure you do not have a dis-grunted neighbor cause peas are very very strong and sure seems something would have had to kill him to just pull out his wing feathers.

I know, it is very odd. It must have been a strong predator, but he was not injured at all. I can't figure it out.

The creatures we have roaming here are raccoons, opossums, skunks, foxes, coyote, and bobcat, not sure who it could have been.
I don't know of any disgruntled neighbors...

But he's healthy and has got lots of new flight feathers coming in already, which is a very good thing!

If I remember correctly, someone wanted pictures of my peafowl and set-up... Well here they are:

That's winter for you!

Blackshoulder Spalding Peahen

The guys in the first aviary.

BS Spalding Peahen Flying - I am always trying to get pictures of them in flight without success...

Opal WE Peacock

Spalding Peacock

This shows his train.

Look at the herl on his train feathers!

The wood ducks keeping him company.

Enjoying the little sun. This is his winter that he can go outside.

Where did you find the pulled flight feathers?
