This is my IB B/S male that last year I first noticed white coming in his train.He will be five years old this spring and the white is getting more noticable but still very slow to completely cover the eye in white.I'm putting him in with three IB hens that all have white flights this year so hopefully we'll get some b/s males with stronger-faster white coming in.

Hey, I think we own his twin. His name is Poppie and he spends all of his time on our back porch either yelling to be let in or shooting me the moon!

Same thing with the white, more every year His flights used to be red and they are completely white now, he's about 12.

Opal barred wing DylansMom? Looks like a hen in your bottom pic. I'm hoping to get a barred winged Opal from this seasons hatch but havn't really examined them to see the sex of what we hatched.

If it is the same birds why don't both of them have white heads where if you look at the one we are calling a hen she has a brown looking head not white.

I will line them up, if I can keep them still, and take their pix . I promise you that is the same pair!

It is an Opal barred wing, but I'm pretty sure he's a boy. I looked at the pic and it is hard to tell, from the angle. He is a good bit bigger than the pied and purple hens he's in with. Not quite as big as the spaldings though, one of them is a BIG boy. Got him shipped to me as an egg from snowshoe. He's a lot younger in this pic, maybe too young to sex? Good luck with your's, I hope you have what you are hoping for.

DylansMom,You can see my Opalb/s male in a few posts back.Last year I added an Opal,and an Opal Pied hen with him along with the two Opal b/s hens he was already with. I hatched many Opal chicks this summer from this pen from the straight Opal and Opal pied hens I hatched several.Looking closer at your pic I see the barring but didn't know how old it was. One of theee toughest to sex early is Opal b/s,,there is only subtle difrfrences between both until you start to see lite rust colored long feathers coming in the makes wing area,at about 5 months. I've got a coming 2yr old Opal B/S male and did notice today in my 2013 pen another Opal b/s male.But I've got to really examine all the Opal and Opal pieds up close. They will be split to black shoulder

This was taken last February. the pen is 8' across and you can see Roadtrip is a proud peacock with his train touching each side of the pen walls

He is beautiful!
