This hen is three years old and she still moving energetic. Could this just be a sign that she's considering of laying an egg finally?

She just turned 8 months today! The top two are Jadea my old hen at 3 years old. I want her to lay but she just won't lay.

Silly me, I looked at your pics in a hurry and didn't even notice the breast feathers which would have told me the top two were your other hen. As for her looking like she is going to lay, but not actually laying, I am going thru that with several hens. I don't know if I should blame the long cold winter and cool spring or what, but less than half of mine have layed so far.

She looks like she's gonna lay real soon. Is she also making a funny clucking sound and pacing?

Kathy, this season is just weird, at least for me. I have had a couple that looked and acted like they were going to lay and then just stopped and went back to being completely normal. My one Pied hen, who is generally a laying machine(30-35 eggs per season) has laid 3 over a 2 week period and its now been a week since she last laid and she seems to be feeling just fine. None are laying with any regularity and more than half haven't laid a thing.

Pretty hens Birdrain.
He is where the egg hunt begins, it has been a difficult search as most of the hens are covering their nest or constantly making decoy nest everywhere instead of just laying a clutch.

There is a nest in here

Pretty sure there is a nest in here but haven't seen her drop yet so i can not locate it , must have covered the eggs.
