My uncle who has the parents said their spauldings did not do well (no special winter protection for free ranging peas on a dairy farm) and all died out. I suppose some of their genes might remain in the pool.
I know they have quite a few black shoulders around their farm (I think they probably sell off any IB cocks and keep the BS ones), so the hens could be split for BS and I wouldn't know until I see if any BS chicks pop up, right?

I knew it was a camera case.

I just figured if they are happy with a camera case instead of a hen, a purse would work just fine for them as well. They are obviously less than discriminating suitors! By the way I witnessed a triple leapfrog in my yearling pen a few weeks ago, but had no camera to document it. It consisted of an opal male on the bottom and 2 spaldings on top of him. There were two purple hens in the pen also, but they were standing in the corner watching and rolling their eyes!
