Show off your Peas!

Beautiful pictures, does anyone know if it safe to put pheasants with peafowls in the same pen? or with chickens?
I put my pair of red-gold hooded pheasant in with them and no issues. I know of many breeders that do.

Ron and Harry. Harry decided he wanted to free range last night. He loves it but never starts far from his sick buddy. Ron is getting much better finally and I am sure will want to join Harry as soon as he can.

The stress and added expenses are not worth it at all. Just my honest opinion.

Peafowl are the largest member of the pheasant family. Putting pheasant in with them is no larger health risk than adding a new peacock or peahen.

Chickens and turkeys aren't recommended as they can carry disease that will endanger your peas. Sorry to hear you learned that the hard way. :-(

So they don't fight with peafowls? specially during breeding season?
Mine are fine. I just have one opal spalding peahen that hates every bird and just chases them out of her way. My white peacock (sold now) would chase my impeyan male once in a while, but nothing bad.

Sounds fine, i would love to have a pair of golden pheasant, i will try to learn about them first.

Great photos Minx and Zaz. Is Glen outta Paxton Minx? If its the Glen Im thinking of its more than likely a pure. Any ways I had two outta 4 green babies hatch seconds ago. Three really . But the foot/leg looks a little bent on the one so It will most likely be a cull unless you or someone wants to come get it ya can have it. I just dont feel like messing with it. Survival of the fittest over here nowadays. I am putting three more green eggs in the bator today since those just hatched. My green hen is putting them out fairly well for her first time. Hope your gang is doing good.
