Show off your Peas!

Well, I'm officially through page 100 but I wanted to join in and show off my first Pea's ever! The first 2 are about 6 weeks of age and the second 2 are about 10 days younger. My neighbor has tons of different kinds of fowl from pigeons to peas, chickens, ducks & turkeys etc etc. Well, I've always wanted peas so about a month ago I got these from him. The older two are from a pair his brother has and he said the parents are IB, the younger set are out of his IB pair (granted he said the parents were both IB for both pair but who knows if they are pure or not). I have as of yesterday put them out in the flight pen I just finished. It's 20'x50'x6' tall around the perimeter going to 9+ in the middle. I've got an old dog house in there for the time being to use as shelter if needed. Anyhow, any ideas on sex yet or too young?

How much would u pay for a trio of peacock there 2 females n 1 male they had babies before there asking 200 just wonder if that a good price r not thanks

I've got an old dog house in there for the time being to use as shelter if needed. Anyhow, any ideas on sex yet or too young?

Nice pen, Its good to see someone that thought out the space peas need before getting them. Do yours use the dog house? Very cute babies.

That sounds like a good price as long as you have the space for them.

I get 350 for a 3 year old trio and 150 for a 1 year old trio, you are close to me so 200 is a great price , what color are they and do you know how old they are?

Pretty babies and nice looking pen.
I would like to let you know in case you didn't that anything can break into a pen covered with chicken wire so if you have no dogs to protect your area you might want to run a hot wire to deter coons and such from making a meal of your pretties

chicken wire was invented to keep chickens inside an area but does not keep a hungry predator out.

I have a dog in the yard that doesn't let anyone or anything in but just in case they slip past her there is a 3 strand hot wire around the perimeter. You may be able see it and the yellow insulators on the posts. My camera is on my iphone and not near as clear as your real camera Zaz! You sure have some cool pics. On a side note, our goats seem to keep critters out of the yard as well. So you guys think they are still to young to sex?

This is great i also use dogs and i have just about no issues, been running a new fence with cattle way up in my front pasture and there is a game trail there, last night i gues the coyotes or a bob cat hit it and let out a holler cause every dog in the area ran out there my dogs had their noses to the ground on the sent but it was gone, bet that sudden stop hitting that fence was a shock as ii am putting it up next to the hedge row , i dought the critter even seen it till it hit it. LOL
The fence is just proped up against the hedge row, i been having trouble with this coydog trying to catch the neighbor driving by when i am out working which gets the entire pack running with him .
I am doing 25 acres so i can have goats again

your first 2 babies looke male , the 3rd i can not tell as the the photo is out of focus.
the 4th kinda looks male but it to is out of focus so hard to be sure.
they look very healthy have you wormed them yet?

Sorry about the poor camera focus, I'm just home from work, will try again, haha. I will admit that I need to worm them. Read different things such as ivomrc in water or horse wormer. I have ivomec on hand but don't know if that's best option. I'm open to any advice.

No problem i take out of focus photos pretty often .
safe guard for goats at a rate of 3cc per gallon for 3 day to 5 days changed daily, they say to repeat in 10 days but i don't cause i worm mine every 2 to 3 months depending on the weather.
i don't use water method because i have so many free ranged so i mix mine with their scrambled eggs and oatmeal mixture, never any left

There are some things to have on hand but i will let some others tell you about that, i pretty much get away with worming mine, where others may have something in their area that the peas may get .


Could someone please advise this member of the other things peas might need PLEAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
